University of the Arts Closure

On May 31, 2024, students and faculty at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia discovered via Instagram and The Philadelphia Inquirer that the school would abruptly close in a mere seven days. On June 3rd, students, alumni, and faculty gathered on campus for a protest and artistic demonstration in hopes of saving the college. Despite multiple gatherings throughout the week, the University of the Arts closed its doors on June 7th.
